I have scanned through the entries on th euse of urine in ayurveda
but there seems to be little discussion of the use in general of
using one`s own urine on a regular basis in the maintenance of good
health.

As a practising yogi of many years experience I use my own fresh
urine each morning. I drink about half a glass of the first urine
(after the first expulsion to wash the channel). I also bathe each
eye for 10m seconds or so using an eye bath, use a neti pot to clean
the nostrils of night mucus and finally massage the whole body
including the scalp and face with urine.

I believe that the vitamin/mineral hormone content of first urine is
very beneficial in the body. Urine should be seen not merely as
waste, but as a nutrient rich source of substances which were not
used by the body during rest. These nutrients and benefits can be
absorbed over the whole surface of the body - hence the massage and
eye washing. Massaging the urine into the skin also serves the
extra benefit of stimulating circulation in the skin and especially
of the lymphatic system. Using a neti with mild salt solution of
boiled water is OK, but own fresh urine is much kinder to the
tissues of the nostrils and more sterile than a made up solution.

Contrary to popular fears, own fresh urine does not smell if used on
freshly cleansed skin.
