Do legs rotation at 180 deg. & cycling in lying
position.
Also do forward band, konasana and surya namaskar
daily.

Your right that's a real tough one to "push along" on your own. I do best in
that pose when pushing my heals forward away from my body. Also for some stupid
reason smiling also helps.
