Default Bikram Mats

Does anyone have experience using bikram mats for ashtanga
practice? I'm trying to find a light and reasonably priced option
for a new mat that I can bring to Africa that will be both durable
and will be slip-proof if very sweaty. My weight limits are pretty
strict and it would be cumbersome to bring both a mysore rug and a
mat.

The Bikram mat works well, but it must be placed on a carpeted
surface. It will slip around a hard floor.

Hi,
In order to go backpacking through Australia and New Zealand I bought
an ultra light travel mat at www.yogamatters.co.uk ... it's very thin
(almost like a sheet) but durable and doesn't slip on smooth
surfaces. However, since I always have incredibly sweaty hands and
feet, I do use a towel with it to practice ashtanga.
good luck,
Carmen
