David Swenson DVD or John Schott are both excellent. They are doing
their routine in slightly different ways (very slightly) you have to
very conservative to pay attention to that, but they are great. You
can order them online Davis from www.ashtange.net and John from
www.theyogashop.co.uk or his own webpage. You can also get Beryl
Bender Birch Power Yoga DVD www.power-yoga.com which actually is the
complete first series (if again you are not to conservative). I have
them all and, have great joy and inspiration from using them as
instructions and counters when I am away from my regular classes.
There slightly different approach gives a variation to the practice
and of course, it is always nice to practice under guidance from
masters, who have done the work (even though it is only verbal and
visually). I have learnt a lot from listening to the different verbal
advices and technical cues you get when practising with dvd/videos.
But it can never replace a real teacher only complement the practice
done under a teacher's guidance.
One last word of friendly advice, since they are doing the practice
in slightly different ways, do not bring your newly learned
variations to your regular class, some teachers can get a little
upset. Not because what you are doing is wrong, but because they have
the responsibility to teach their specific variation of the series
(again the variations are slightly different).'
