i'm not from new york, but beryl bender
birch's school i believe is on the upper west side....i
trained with her and thom birch, and they are absolutely
wonderful people and amazing teachers.
here are the
addresses:
Beginners
St. David's School Gym
22 East 89th, just off
Madison Avenue
Entrance is on 89th Street (black
door)

Intermediate
St. David's School Gym
215 East 94th
Street
Between 2nd and 3rd Avenues

I recently moved from the East Village to the

Columbia neighborhood, and my practice options,
and
hence my practice, have taken a major dive.
No-one
has been able to recommend a place
near here to
practice ashtanga.

But, the stretch of Broadway
around 114th has
been plastered with orange flyers
for this
so-called Abhyasa yoga class, three days
a week
at the Broadway Presbyterian Church
there.
The instructors are both ex-Jivamukti, and
the
class sounds promising. Has anybody tried
it?
It's only been going about a month.

The
instructors are Carole Del Mul and Lee Mc
Kenna.
