Default April Fools Day - 04-01-2001, 11:20 AM

Wait a minute, now you've got me really confused!
I thought you really changed your name. Then I
thought someone played a trick on you. So I guess you are
the trickster. I did not know of the origin of the
name shining skull, will have to look into that,
sounds interesting.

But really, though I may have
some interesting "insights", I am no authority on the
science of yoga. I have learned much from the recent
discussions here. Lots to think about. I hope you don't
really think omboy has been "littering" here. I have
found most of his posts to be quite amazing and
relevant to the study of Ashtanga yoga. For one thing, I'm
reminded that maybe I need to start reading the Bhagavad
Ghita.

Speaking of amazing, I started thinking Madonna was pretty
interesting after True Blue came out long ago. Most of her
records have some really great songs on them. I think its
great that she practices Ashtanga yoga. Its good for
her and it sets a good example for anyone who is
interested in her. The more people practice yoga, the
better. I will probably never achieve what she has in her
asana practice (and I haven't put out any records
either). Still haven't seen the movie where she plays a
yoga teacher. Supposedly a terrible film and only a
few minutes of yoga but someday I'll check it
out.

Happy April Fools day to you!

Yes, "mr pinky perky" was intended as a kind of
joke. Recently, I read about Pinky & Perky and I liked
the names. So I thought it might be interesting to
post under those names on this board and see how it
looks like. I took advantage of Fools' Day to do so.
However, I must say I am indeed bored with "shining skull"
(it's the English name for kapalabhati, a pranayama
technique I used to do before starting with astanga yoga).
"Mr pinky perky" sounds quite funny, and I think
already that I will use it as a second name along with my
old one. Let's see which one the people here will
like more...

I have nothing against midnight
omboy: I wish only I'd be able to understand his posts.

Yes, the Bhagavadgita is a must for every yoga
practitioner. I am considering to order the edition in the
translation of Juan Mascaro from Amazon,

target=new>http://images.amazon.com/images/P/0140441212.01.LZZZZZZZ.gif . I
have read it's the best English translation
of the Gita available.

Thanks again for your
posting, which is very helpful to me, regardless of
whether you are an "authority" on yoga.

Careful with those name selections there. The
devil you know may be better than the devil you don't.
If you don't like the abbreviation SS, think what it
will be like when people abbreviate Mr. Perky Pinky to
Mr PP. (more english slang--PP meaning kleiner
glied, or something like that)

Yes, I agree: PP (kleines Glied) is indeed awful.
But then, I just took advantage of April Fools' Day
to play with a new identity - didn't I say that it
was "my trick of the day"? I must admit though that I
liked "pinky perky". I was even thinking already to
change "pinky" into "pinkie".

Right, names can be
tricky. You should know better: after all, have you ever
considered that "boredcthis" can be shortened to "bore"?
(Although, I don't have the impression that you are a
bore.)

So maybe I will wait until next April Fools' Day to
ditch "shining skull" once and for all? Or maybe
not...uuhm. Enough! Let's talk astanga now.

ich kann nur ein bischen deutsch verstehen. your
english is way better than my german. subtleties, irony,
tone, etc. get lost in translation. no big deal.
