Default Brindavan Update - April 27, 2006 (Afternoon Session) - 04-29-2006, 09:11 AM

April 27, 2006 (Afternoon Session)

Bhajan started at approx. 4.10 PM, and, Swami came around 4.20 PM and enjoyed the bhajans.

Later he called upon Shri. Sanjay Mahalingam, who did his MBA from SSIHL, and now pursuing Phd. to deliver a lecture. The Lecture had been for about 30 mins and then aarti was given and swamy left at 5.25 PM. He had been around 1 hr 10 minutes.

Extracts from the speech given by sanjay:

a) TRUE LOVE.

True Love can be only obtained from one and only one person. that is GOD himself. The DIVINE PARENT alone is eligible for this.

b) Introspection.

A small story was narrated on this:

" Once there lived a guru and 10 disciples. He asked all of his disciples to go the nearby river and have bath and come back. He ordered the senior most disciple to be careful to count the number of people before and after and to ensure that all 10 of them reach back to him.

The disciples left the place and then the senior disciple started counting the number, he counted 1 .. 2.. 3.. ... 9 and forgot to count himself. he started worrying how to show face to his guru. then remaining disciples also started counting and ended on the same note. they were all confused and embarassed at their situation.

Then a saint passed by that place, understood their problem and then he asked all of the disciples to stand in a line and say aloud 1.. etc. then all of them started counting 1..2..3..9..10.. they were happy and felt comfortable.

The moral of the story is : When you forget about ur true self, u face miseries and start worrying on the things tht u see, just like the senior person he neglected himself.

Where did the 10th person came from? it didn't come from outside it is there among the disciples themselves. until and until they realized that they are 10, they were not happy. same is the case with people in the world today. they start neglecting on the essence of their true self and forget their reality and waste time in doing things whoch are not essential and try to find happiness in worldy things leading themselves to miseries and sorrowful happiness,

so my dear friends contemplate, introspect and understand the true meaning of ur life and understand who u are. u are nothing but the parabrahma swaroopa. u r the eternal atma. u r the god. only when u see
thru the eyes of God, u can understand the meaning of life and find the same eternal being in each and every particle of the world.

c) What is EGO?

He narrated another story here:

Once a person went to an uninvited marriage ceremony. the bridegroom side thought he is from bride's side and started showering him nice respect and good service. the bride's side thought that he is special invitee from bridegroom's side and started respecting and treating him specially too. he enjoyed this nice service from both the bridegroom's as well as bride's side.

Later once both the sides got a doubt and decided to approach this person. then tht person realising the situation left the place.

The person here refers to the EGO.. the people doesn't know the presence of it until they understand its identity. it exists evrywhere and enjoys its place.

so my dear friends dont allow ego to enjoy in ur hearts and lead you to some unnecessary illusion.

Cast away the EGO and enjoy the TRUE LOVE showered by our beloved lord by understanding your true identity and devoting your lives to the real purpose of life.

This is the only gift we can give to our beloved sai and this is what each and every person has to aim for in his life.

Om sri sai ram.
