1. Abhishekam [how and why]
2. Kalasam Prayer [ ' ' ]
3. Havan procedure.

SAI RAM,
I will really be obliged,when you complete this book,and then let me have a
copy of that,as I am in USA,and need that to teach my children.

There is a nice book from Ramakrishna Mission on rituals and the symbology of
Gods. It is written by Swami Swahaananda. In many discourses, Swami had talked
about the homas.
1. Homam is for sacrificing the bad in us and to offer the bad to the fire that
will purify our senses. We offer the 7 sins of Christianity or the
Arishadvargas.
We also traditionally offer SAMIDHAS ( Different herbs that are sticks) that
release the medicinal properties into the cosmos from the fire and travel in
the cosmos to purify the environment and offer medicinal use for breathing
clean air or purified air. Failing that now, we have too much of acid rain and
pollution. The American Indians , Zoaroster also do the purification process
through the fire. Experiments in the uNION Carbide accident proved that the
Tulasi plant near the accident in a house hold prevented the cancer in that
family.
The brick base is the body, desires are the sticks and the performance is the
purification process.
You clean the place , put some Kolam or designs with rice flour, kumkum and
turmeric. You invoke Ganesha, invoke the Ashta Dikpaalakaas, you invoke Pancha
Bhootas, and the nine grahas or planets. Then you start with purusha sooktam or
Srosooktam, and chant the Gayatri, mrityum jaya mantram, Sai gayatri, and all
gayatri mantram. But you also should take deeksha with abstinenece,
vegeterianism for at least several weeks to 3 months before you perform a
faithfully, dedicated ideal homa for any pupose that serves humanity. All homas
are done for cosmic cause and universal peace and benefit. Finally , "the Poorna
Ahuti" is done with a cloth that will have coconut, banana, some gold, gems,
Homa samagri, Ghee and coins. You wrap it and drop it into the sacrificial
fire.

Kalasam:
Wate ris a good conductor of energy, like electicity and transmits waves. Into
this water that is considered as GAnaga, YAmuna, Saraswati , Krishna,
Bhageerathi, Godaavari rivers that are devine water sources, and invoke the
Gods into that. The procedure can be elaborate to purify the water with
Mantram. The electromagnetic field of the recitation of mantram will be picked
up by the water. While reciting the MAtram, or sooktam, the electro magnetic
waves reach the Balck idols, as this water is poured to do abhishekam on them.
That is why all idols in the typical temples are black, and black absorbs
energy and white deflects. This water that had absorbed energy through the pure
devotion and metered mantram done by teh priest is a good healer of our
DISCHARGED Energies that cause DIS-EASE. Kalasam is therefore the water filled
with divinity invoked through well metered mantram. Gayatri first of all, that
is the mother of Vedas.
Abhishekam:
Having explained about the role of mantram, black idols, properly metered
recitation of mantraas, and abhishekam, the idols get charged and the chrge of
electro magnetic force that pervades the atmosphere is picked up by the black
idols and that energy in turn is picked up by the colloidal osmotic properties
of water from teh idols. The charged water is your healer or medicine. Pause
for a moment and see how the Ultra Sound machine tracks the images. SAme sound
waves give a complete picture of organs on MRI. Same principle here.
Milk,butter, ghee, butter milk are all derivatives from a cow traditionally.
Swami desccribes the cow's milk representing Brahma. At the same time, if cow
represents the Vedic knowledge, the 4 legs of the cow are the 4 vedas, milking
of the cow is the process of bhakti and jnana,
The butter is seperating the loving heart from the impurities, and remove the
traces of impurities and water and make ghee. Honey and butter milk all are the
entities in a pure state obtained from nature. Pancha amrita abhishekam is done
with these to purify the idols. We are using the milk ( Brahma) and all other
derivatives of Brahma in Abhishekam.
