1. YOU ARE NOT THE BODY
Rajeswari Kasturi,
Saidarbar – Hyderabad.
>From the Satsanghs of Saibanisa

A Holy soul left the mortal body on Saturday 2nd April 2005 and
merged in the Lord. On next day I had an opportunity to talk to
Saibanisaji. When we were discussing on this topic, he was telling
that you should know "You are not the body, nor the body is yours, You
are awareness itself". He was quoting from message from Baba, which he
had on that day. "You are soul! Only death can separate soul from
your body. When death comes nearer to you chant the name of Lord and
just happily follow to be taken to the Lord".

Saibanisaji was further telling that the body is made of Panchabhootas
(Air, Water, Fire, Earth and Space) once your soul leaves your body,
watch the body. After talking to Saibanisaji, incidentally, I have
gone through a book in which it is mentioned " We see the body as a
solid object, but a closer inspection reveals the exact opposite. It
breaks down in to bones, soft tissue, and further down into cells. If
we keep zooming in, we come to atoms, the building blocks for
everything in the universe consisting of mainly space. These atoms
have relatively huge distance between them, comparable to those we
find between the stars. If all the atoms that make up your body were
compressed into the smallest possible space, they would barely amount
to the size of a pinhead. These atoms can be reduced to sub atomic
particles, which break up into energy/nothingness. So the apparent
concrete reality of the body turns out to dissolve into space, yet
magically is experienced as a solid object.

We all agree that the body is a temporary vehicle for the soul. Many
people say they believe this, but when it comes down to it, heaven can
wait and funerals are generally occasions for sadness rather than joy.
While claiming to adhere to the view of being an immortal soul in a
mortal body, most of us do, in fact, identify with and experience
ourselves as the body. We can hear this in how we talk about
ourselves. For example, I am tired, I am strong, I am ill, I am born
and I will die."

3. FOOT STEPS OF THE HOLY FEET –1
EXPERIENCES OF SAI.BA.NI.SA WITH SHIRDI SAI

Prior to 1989 I was not knowing about SRI SHIRIDI SAI BABA. Some body
gave me the photograph of SRI SAI BABA during the month of January
1989. Whenever I looked to that photograph, I felt SRI SAI BABA was
smiling at me. Indeed it was a magnetic effect and I felt I must visit
SHIRIDI. In the month of July1989 my neighbour Sri Bhonslay invited me
to visit SHIRIDI along with him. I visited SHIRIDI and that was the
turning point in my life. From 07-06-1990 onwards daily I started
reading "SAI SATCHARITA" written by SRI NAGESH VASUDEV GUNAJI, and
since then my life style was totally changed. Prior to 1989 I was
living like a vagabond. The day I started reading "SAI SATCHARITA" I
felt responsibility in my family life and Official life. It was on
11-04-1991 I was reading chapter 21, of SRI SAI SATCHARITA and the
following lines in the page 111 attracted me, "You should study this
book and if you do so, your desires will be fulfilled; and when you go
to the North in discharge of your duties in future, you will come
across a great Saint by your good luck, and then he will show you the
future path, and give rest to your mind and make you happy". In the
month of March, 1991 there was a talk in the Office that some Officers
will be sent on official duty to Sweden and South Korea. On 11-04-1991
at 07.30 a.m. I prayed BABA to give me a chance to go abroad. When I
reached my office on 11-04-1991 I was asked to sign the Passport
papers. On that day I came to know that Chief Executive has
recommended my name along with another name to visit South Korea. When
I signed the passport papers I felt happy and bowed my head on the
Lotus Feet of Lord SAINATH, and offered my "PRANAMS". I got my
official passport and VISA on 01-05-1991 in my hand. Myself and
Co-officer left Hyderabad on 05-05-1991 to South Korea.

It was on 06-05-1991 the time was 01.00am and my security check was
over in the Bombay International Airport and I was waiting to board
the aircraft of SWISSAIR, (FLIGHT from ZURICH - BOMBAY - HONGKONG -
SEOUL). I felt I must pray SAI BABA before entering the aircraft. I
was going by the side of all the DUTY FREE SHOPS in the airport and
felt happy to see the photo of SAI BABA in one shop. The time was
01.10 a.m. and the departure time of flight is 01.20 a.m. I stood and
prayed in front of that Photograph for two minutes and entered the
aircraft. The time was 01.20 a.m. the aircraft was moving on the
runway. The time was 01.30 a.m. and the aircraft was airborne. That
was my first experience to travel abroad on an international flight,
and my heart was beating fast. I closed my eyes for ten minutes and
started chanting OM SAI-SRI SAI-JAYA JAYA SAI. I felt very happy when
the pilot of the aircraft announced to remove the belts and relax. At
that time the aircraft was moving at a speed of 900 miles per hour at
an altitude of 40,000 feet. Just before the takeoff one tall gentleman
with a fair complexion entered the aircraft and sat by my side. when
the airhostess started serving cool drinks, in a friendly way I asked
that gentleman as to who he was and where from he had come. He replied
that he is RAJ.I.MIRPURI and is coming from SHIRIDI and going to Hong
Kong. On learning that he came from SHIRIDI, I was over joyed with
love and talked about SAILEELAS with him. We were talking up to 03.00
a.m. and I set my alarm at 05.00 a.m. to read the KAKADA ARATI OF SAI
BABA and gone to sleep. When the alarm was ringing I got up and I
could see bright Sun light from the aircraft and the airhostess was
serving breakfast. I asked about the time she told it is 08.00 a.m.
(local time) now.

I washed my face and started reading KAKADA ARATI, the gentleman
sitting by the side of me (Mr. RAJ.I.MIRPURI) asked me to read the
Kakada Arati little loudly so that he too can listen to it. I
completed reading the Kakada Arati and offered the Morning breakfast
as Naivedyam to Sai, and offered the Prasad to that Gentleman. He
questioned what is the guarantee that it is SAI PRASAD. I felt I must
answer to his question and I prayed SAI about my position. When I
looked to the breakfast plate cover I found letters SAI on it. It was
actually printed as SWISSAIR on it and I underlined the letters SAI
with my pen and shown to that gentleman the word SAI. I told him ANNAM
(Food) is PARABRAHMA SWARUPAM and SAI is PARABRAHMA. He congratulated
me for the feelings I had about SAI, and he purchased a sweet packet
from the SKY SHOP in the aircraft and presented to me. It was around
09.00 a.m. (local time) the plane landed in Hong Kong. I asked that
gentleman to give his visiting card so that I can drop a letter to him
when I go back to India. With a smile he gave me his Visiting Card and
left the aircraft.

After a brief halt at Hong Kong the Plane finally landed in SEOUL
(01.00 p.m. local time). From SEOUL myself and my Co-officer took
domestic flight to PUSAN. In PUSAN our host has received us in the
airport and taken us to CHANG WON City by Road. It was evening 6.30
(local time) I reached the Hotel and relaxed .It was night 8.00 p.m.
and my host came to my room and asked me to join for the Dinner. I
requested him to wait for about half-an-hour so that I can complete
the night prayer. He agreed to wait and I completed SEJE ARATI of SAI
BABA. During Arati I Prayed SAI to give me a feeling that he is in the
CHANGWON CITY also. After the Arati my host has taken me to balcony of
my hotel room and started showing me the CHANG WON City in lights. To
my surprise I could see big NEON letters SAI on a nearby hotel. I
asked my host about the NEON letters SAI, he could not explain about
word SAI, but he promised to take me to that place. He took me to that
hotel and I could see NEON letters SAI clearly and other letters not
glowing. When I have gone near the NEON letters I found it as SALOON.
I asked my host what it meant by the word SALOON. He explained me the
meaning of SALOON as BAR where you can relax and drink beer etc. To
fulfill my wish SAI appeared in the Form of NEON LIGHTS (SAI) and
proved that he is everywhere on Earth. After completing my official
work in South Korea, I returned to Hyderabad on 21-05-1991 and written
two letters to that gentleman of Hong Kong, and I could not get any
reply from him. When I could not get any reply I felt he is SAI and I
checked the Visiting Card and I could see small size emblem of GLOBE
on the card and felt SAI is Everywhere in this Universe.
BOW TO SHRI SAI - PEACE BE TO ALL.

4. SAI IN DREAMS:
These are the dream sequences and messages as received by SAIBANISA
from our beloved GURU LORD SAINATH OF SHIRIDI. In Anticipation that
this feature will help in one's spiritual growth are hereby compiled
from his personal Diary and presented to SAIBANDHUS.

Translated and presented by RAGHU RAMAN SATULURY.

Dated: 20-02-1993:

Yesterday, women involved with me in my earlier part of the life
wanted me to continue my friendship with them. Sai was totally against
involvement with other women. I, with folded hands prayed to Sai to
remove such shaking thoughts from my mind and to forgive me for the
past mistakes. The ever kind Sai has shown me how my life was ruined
for this particular weakness and saved me from a retract.

The details run like this. I was working near a furnace in our place
of work and it was operating at a temperature around Eleven Hundred
degrees Celsius. Big flames were seen inside the Furnace chamber, it
being an open- Hearth furnace. The fire was bluish tinged in colour
and instantaneously attracted my attention. I put my hand in to it.
Later, I moaned with fear and pain. In that process, I couldn't
control and eased myself. Shri.Samba Siva Rao, a senior worker, came
running to me and commented as to how a senior officer of my status
could behave so foolish. He helped me with a broomstick to clean the
whole area, wash it off and to be discarded at a far off place. I then
realized how disastrous it could be to flirt with other women. Sai has
given me a chance to refine myself and never to fall prey to the evil
desires again. I made a firm decision not to look back

Sai in the 14th chapter has stressed that only two things come in the
way of one's progress in the field of spiritualism. One is desire for
women and second one is the craze for money. He often sent people to
be tested for these two qualities by asking them to visit Radhakrishna
mai and two by acceptance of Dakshina i.e. One's ability to part with
money. The message was more than clear by the dream contents.
Past mistakes are eye-openers, never to be repeated.

Dated: 02-03-1993.

I was in a Church nearby to my house. All those gathered were singing
in praise of the Lord-Jesus and were inviting others to join them in
the on going prayer. I was in my inner hearts praying Lord-Sainath.
Community lunch followed the prayer session. People of all classes
participated. Rotis and Brinjal curry was served. An orphan child was
seated by my side. I offered her a piece with curry and I could
imagine Sai sitting in her position. Suddenly the whole of the church
got converted in to Dwarakamayi. In the morning I woke up with good
reminiscences. What a wonderful dream it was? I had my bath and
commenced the reading of regular Satcharitra parayana.9th chapter
happened to be the one for that day. Mrs.Tharkad entrusted
Mrs.Purandhre with the task of preparing and serving Brinjal curry and
Brinjal- bharit to Baba. Baba distributed bharit to all and wanted
Brinjal fry curry for him self immediately. While going through these
words, I could understand the omniscience of Baba as same curry was
served in the church, which suddenly transformed in to Dwarakamayi.

"Yath bhavam thath bhavathi"-We gain to see what we think with our
Inner vision.

5. QUINTESSENCE OF SRI SAIBABA'S PHILOSOPHY:
(By Late Sri Bharam UmamaheswaraRao)
"Shashi": shashi_31@...
16. What is God? Who is God? How are we to see God?
b) How are we to see God?
To see God, love is a prerequisite; God is, love itself; the ignorant
feel that God and love are separate. We must know that God and love
are one. When this is known, we will realize that God is love. Service
of the poor is worship of God. Work is worship. See God in the sweat
of the brow. That, Baba said was how we are to see God.
Rabindranath Tagore says: To know God, there are threefold Margas
(paths), they are:
1.The Jnana Marga: it is not easily accessible to all. It is the
privilege of a rare few.
2.The Karma Marga: it is equally difficult to tread the path of
action; one must renounce all desires, for fruits of actions.
3.The Bhakti Marga: it is the easiest of all margas. Bhakthi, Faith or
Love can draw man to God.
Baba says:
There are six steps to realize God. They are:
Mix in good company, Admire spiritual things, Single-minded devotion,
Always speak of God
When the devotion reaches the highest point, he will laugh, weep,
loose control over his body.
Forgetfulness of the Self, which includes one's own body.

Sri Sai Baba says: "The time element is an important factor in all
these matters and spiritual awakening is very much a question of time.
A great deal of all this depends upon one's Karma in one's previous birth.
Maharshi Suddhananda Bharati says:
God is impersonal, pure, reality, splendor, and bliss. He is beyond
names and forms; transcending name and form and attribute. One Supreme
exists, pay Him tribute; whose temple is the boundless Universe; His
moving is temple, every being is to be pure in heart and know that God
as bliss, creates, protects and uncreates all this. Behold God! His
unique grace plays as the Universe. Regard the Heaven and earth as God
and see His play in even the humblest clod; all living beings evolve
to attain true oneness. He also says: God-hood is the reality of man.
The soul evolves through cycles of birth and death towards this
consummate Godhood. Freedom is its birthright. Man is born to be
reborn in Divinity. The manifestation of God as love and the
experience of the highest is Bliss, by attaining God as the Supreme
Being. Souls that have reached this world and have become united with
the Supreme Being are never again separated from God. The knower who
goes by the path of God attains not only the state of Brahman but the
Supreme Brahman also.

The Brahma Sutras say: The soul on attaining Brahman gets a special
kind of body, through which it enjoys pleasures. The enjoyment in the
company of the God-blessed people is free from the functions of the
body, speech etc. Those who attain realize whether through Pusti Marga
or through the Maryada Marga do not return again to this mundane
world. The ultimate reality is the one non-dual Brahman. It exists in
the pure consciousness form only. The word God denotes that Supreme
person Who is the abode of all auspicious qualities to an infinite
degree and is free from all worldly taints. The Supreme person is God.

6. DEVOTEES EXPERIENCES:

SaiRam!
This is Devi, I would like to tell my Experiences with loving lord
BABA .We used to live in Orlando- FL, recently we moved to NJ. We
bought the new car on Jan27. When we went to buy the car, the dealer
did not ask any paychecks. After 2 days he was keep on calling for pay
stubs. We do not know that before because my husband lost the job.
Once we bought the car we went to Inverness to pray to Baba & we did
Puja to car also and after that the dealer send the guy to my house to
get the car back. He took the car back. We were so depressed. We
depressed not for loosing the car, but once we did the puja why it was
happened like this. So I prayed to Baba, with in a week we got the new
car with out pay stubs. We were so happy the 2nd problem arises again,
my husband is not familiar with driving. How come is it possible to
drive from Orlando to NJ? I was so nervous because we have 6 months
old daughter. I prayed to Baba if you will make us to reach NJ safely
I would share my feelings with Sai bandus.

While we were on the way from Orlando to NJ in the middle I guess at
Washington dc I saw a Beggar in the heavy traffic. He came to near my
car for money. I was unable to find the money to give him right away,
my husband was so tense because it was his first driving experience.
His eyes were always on the steering by that time I was supposed to
open window, my Husband drove the car to further he did not notice
that some one is there besides our door. We can't stop the car in the
middle of the road while it signals green. He remembered me that I am
helping you for your safe trip. Once we came to NJ. I did not get the
chance to write my experience. After 45 days in midnight at 1.40 I am
sharing my experience with all everyday my husband will drop me at my
work, from my house to work it will take 15 mints. Everyday the beggar
-in the sense Baba will come to my mind .I was so happy that he always
with us. He always protects us even though we do not call him. I hope
he will protect every living creature in this world. Thanks to my
caring & blessing father –BABA
Devi.

7. SAI WITH CHILDREN:

Smt. Madhu Gopal Ravada, Saidarbar, Hyderabad.
Hello Children! I am Madhu aunty. Do you know Baba use to play with
children and used to tell stories to them? I felt children visiting
Saidarbar should be entertained with good stories. Baba told before He
took His Maha Samadhi that He is Muralidhar and would like to play in
Booty Wada (Samadhi Mandir) with His devotees. So far you have enjoyed
Krishna Leelas. Baba has also established his identity with Lord Sri
Rama. Now I will take you through our epic Ramayan. Tell your parents
to read the Glory of Shirdi Sai – Bi-weekly E-magazine and narrate
Ramayan from this magazine.

ABDUCTION OF SITA:
Mareecha transformed himself into a golden deer and went near the hut
in which Rama, Lakshmana and Sita lived, started moving around and
shortly caught attention of Sita. Sita fell for it. She wanted the
beautiful golden skin of the deer. She ran to Rama and requested,
"Kindly kill that deer for me. I want its golden skin." Rama tried to
tell her that golden deers did not exist. He said, "May be, it is a
demon in disguise. The forest is infested with demons." Sita did not
listen to reason and insisted on having the skin of golden deer. Rama
had no choice except to fulfill Sita's demand. He picked up his bow
and quiver of arrows and instructed Lakshmana not to leave Sita alone
and guard her in his absence. Lakshmana assured Rama that he would
obey his brother.

As Rama rose to pick up his bow and quiver of arrows, the golden deer
(Mareecha) ran faster through the bushes. Rama too ran after the
racing deer that became visible now and invisible then. The chase
lasted for a considerable time. They came very far from the hut. At
last, no sooner did Rama saw the deer than he shot an arrow at it. The
arrow went deep into its body and it fell down and assumed its real
form of demon. Mareecha, then, imitating Rama's voice called out
painfully and loudly "Lakshmana! Brother Lakshmana! Help me,
Lakshmana." Rama reached the deer and found there in place of deer a
dying demon that fell at his feet and died. Rama had heard Mareecha
calling out. He knew it was some design of demons. He ran fast towards
his hut.

The imitated voice of Rama that Mareecha cried out echoed through the
forest. It was heard by Sita and Lakshmana also, and they were filled
with uneasiness. Sita asked Lakshmana to run to help his brother as he
was in some kind of trouble, but Lakshmana remembered that Rama had
told him not to leave Sita alone. He was in a dilemma. He himself
doubted that any one could ever harm his brother Rama. He was
confident that it was some trick of demons. He smelled danger for
Sita. He tried to comfort the disturbed and tearful Sita who was
anxious for her husband. However, Sita would not listen to reason. She
truly believed that some danger had befallen her husband. She insisted
that Lakshmana should go for the rescue of his brother. Lakshmana was
not willing to leave Sita all alone in the demon-infested forest. He
again and again tried to convince Sita that it was some trick of
demons to harm them and that Rama was absolutely safe; but she would
not listen to him. At last, Sita commanded, "Lakshmana, go and help
your brother. If you do not go, I shall kill myself at once in front
of your eyes."
To be continued…

SRI SAI BABA - MALARIA FEVER
We learn from chapter 13 of Sri Sai SatCharita that once Bala Ganpat
Shimpi suffered from amalignant type of malaria. As his human efforts
did not yield the required result, he resorted Sainath's Feet. Our
Doctor's Doctor Sainath's prescription was as follows - "Give a black
dog some morsels of rice mixed with curds in front of Lakshmi's
temple." When he went to mahalakshmi temple with curd rice, he saw a
black dog waving its tail. He placed the rice before the dog and it
ate. Bala got relief from malaria. H H Sivanesan Swamiji in one of my
visits to Shirdi referred to old Sai Leelas(Marathi) and narrated the
following incidents from a letter to Kaka Saheb Dikshit.
RAMACHANDRA KESAVA NAYEK'S MALARIA FEVER
Shri Nayek visited Shirdi during Baba's physical presence. Once he
suffered from severe malaria fever for 21 days. One evening his son
Ganapathi having passed LLB exam garlanded photos of Akkalkot Maharaj
Sainath and Manikya Prabhu and offered peda. He was not sure of his
father's survival. His bed was below Baba's photo. Suddenly the
garland fell in his mouth. The patient started sweating and gained
consciousness from 10'O Clock of that night. Then Baba lifted the
patient and questioned, "When are you coming to Shirdi? I am eagerly
looking for you. Come and stay there not for short period but for
longer period. Have I not come to you?" After taking Baba's Udi and
Peda he slept. Even the doctor wondered for the sudden change.
Gradually he recouped his health. Beloved Sai Bandhu - loving call to
our Master will do wonders. Let us pray in times of happiness to cure
our malady of hatred, jealousy, desire which is more dangerous than
malaria!

12. EDITORIAL.
Things impressed me from this Magazine:

You are not the body, nor the body is yours. You are awareness itself".

Baba has said that one should realize this fact in true sense. On the
contrary, most of us identify with and experience ourselves as the
body. We often talk attaching `I' to literally to everything
happening around ourselves. For example, I am tired, I am strong, I am
ill, I am born and I am doing etc. The root cause of speaking about
`I' is the `aham'-the inner ego.

"I then realized how disastrous it could be to flirt with other
women". Money and women are the two stumbling blocks in one's progress
in the field of spiritualism. Saibanisa's dream is highlighting the
ill effects of the vice, which is growing out of proportion in the
present day's context. It is perhaps the nature's way of bringing
awareness in people and to contain this menace, dreaded decease like
Aids is rampantly prevalent all over the World affecting the humanity
at large.

"Yath bhavam thath bhavathi"-We gain to see what we think with our
Inner vision and all our actions and reactions are born out of this fact.

Of the three Jnana, Karma and Bhakti Margas (paths), relatively easier
one of all margas is the Bhakthi margas as God is Love and Love comes
out of devotion even in terms of work. Faith or Love can alone draw
man to God.

Baba says: The steps to realize God are: Keeping in good company,
Admiring spiritual things, Single-minded devotion and always to think
and engage in speaking of God.

When the devotion reaches the highest point, he will laugh, weep,
loose control over his body.
Forgetfulness of the Self, which includes one's own body. A great deal
of all this depends upon one's Karmic deeds from the previous birth.
The word God denotes that one Supreme person who is the abode of all
auspicious qualities to an infinite degree and is free from all
worldly taints. The Supreme person is God.

Tail piece- The Gap to bridge God and devotee is faith and devotion.

With the permission of Saibanisaji, we have started a new article

Saibanisaji's close interaction with Lord Sainath of Shirdi will be
