Re: one-pointedness
That is always the catch-22. The best ways generally can also be abused the easiest in the opposite direction.

Subject: [Ammachi] one-pointedness
perhaps, "one-pointedness" would be a good topic for discussion?
there are so many different ways to approach this
1) some can lead to enlightenment quickly
2) while the other extreme can lead to dogmatic control
3) and everything else in the middle

PS ~ i prayed to amma, clicked and this came up:
"In the old days Mother was not even able to call 'Krishna'. The
body-consciousness would be lost immediately. If concentration was
not gained in meditation I would angrily jump towards Devi's
portrait shouting at Her. I used to beat my head on the wall. Not to
speak of other times! I would embrace Devi's picture with
overflowing love and crumble it into pieces. In those days, whoever
came Mother would only see them as Devi. If I happened to see any
good looking girls nicely dressed up I would leap and jump out of
bliss. I felt all of them to be Devi." - Ammachi, Awaken Children,
