Excellent observation!
The gender issue has been dematerialized,
which is one of the yogic siddhis in advanced cowhood!

Dear Carol,
Many animals can be made friends, the saying goes, no one bites the hand that feeds!
(Be careful with crocs though) I regularly feed the turnstones, who
are funny birds, and when they see me, they greet
with musical tweet. They are fond of salty, protein-rich food, like cheddar chips and
cat snacks like on the pic below.
The birds come very near, so i can make close-ups :-)
As man decreased the habitat of many creatures, feeding is an act of compensation,
all furry and feathered friends will appreciate, especially in winter.
Dear Jan:
You are so right. I agree with you completely :-)
Thanks for posting another one of your bird closeup shots.
This time I will not miss my chance to tell you how much
I appreciate your photos. And your sense of humor...
Love,
Joyce

Dear Joyce,
Humor could be likened to invisible cork that keeps you afloat even
when thinking to sink...
On the beach, observing the birds, is like watching a comic show. Pigeons can be quite
aggressive but they don't know resentment and their skirmishes leave no injuries or hurt
feelings. How animals respond to humans, depends on how humans treat them. The snowy
egret is extremely shy, doesn't belong here, somehow (was?) emigrated from the Americas
where the species nearly got hunted into extinction. Often seen in company of a wimbrel:
Golden foot on curvy bill ;-)
Peace,
Jan
