Default The Food Truths - 04-10-2002, 05:19 AM

These are things I wanted to share today.

1. Sesame seeds are one of the best sources of calcium for vegetarians.
Almonds, walnuts, and other nuts and seeds are good sources too.
2. Broccoli is a fair source of calciumand keeps the system moving as well.
3. Too much protein in diets can lead to bone loss.
4. Walnuts and flax seeds are natural vegetarian sources of Omega 3.
5. Most weight loss and exercise plans are a gimmick.
6. Six pack abs have nothing to do with good health. You also have to take
off your shirt to let others see that you have them. That's not cool.
7. Eating more than one needs can lead to a variety of ailments.

I am considering a new title for my book "Raw Broccoli Power." My video
tape on hatha yoga will be complete by the end of the summer (August).
Please post any suggestions about postures and pranayama you really want to
see and explained. Thanks.

Love to all
Harsha

Agree with this, Harsha. BTW, there's a a type
of seawood that provides the extremely health-
promoting effects of EPA & DHA usually provided
from fish & fish oil. I'll check on it if you want.

When you eat flax seeds, make sure they're milled
otherwise the omega 3 is indigestible.

Brocili tea is now making a big hit
for those that realize it's health benefits
but don't like eating it.

I personally find a 6-pack irresistable
on a female.
(a 12-pack, preferably bottles, even more so)

This is a pretty good article:

Will your video be available on DVD?

Finally, I just got back from seeing the 'Kids in the Hall'
Tour of Duty. They are a 5 man canadien comedy troupe
that dress as women in alot of their sketches. I highly
reccomend them to anyone whose town they might be
dropping in on. (if edgy & progressive is not your thing,
forget it).

David, I just started experimenting on flax seeds recently. I soak them in
water overnight and eat them next day when they are easier for the teeth to
grind. Many do get swallowed whole because they release oil and become so
slippery after being soaked.
