Dear Stefan
Raja yoga is a serious practice and should not be taken up
lightly. If you are serious about progressing on this pathway,
my advise would be to first read a small booklet called
Raja Yoga by Swami Vivekananda.
You can buy it in London from the Ramakrishna Vedanta Centre
Tel 016285 26464 (phone between 10 and 12 noon).
(Or order it from Amazon).
I have read many books on Raja yoga but have not found
any with such depth. The author talks from experience and
not book learning.
Some of the requirements are:-
Good health.
Absolute celibacy.
A teacher who is successful in Rajayoga.
(I have yet to come across such a person in London...
Not that they do not exist -- they may just not be bothered to
make themselves known! They live by their own rules).
But Vivekananda says: If you are serious a teacher will
come looking for you. So there is hope : )
regards
jay
