Default On Karma Yoga and Bhakti Yoga - 12-05-2004, 10:45 AM

Hare Krishna,

1.What is the exact difference between karma yoga, niskama karma yoga, bhakti
yoga and bhakti yoga in mode of goodness (discussed in 3rd Canto by Lord
Kapila)?

2.In BG, is Arjuna a karma-yogi or bhakti-yogi?

3.Is there any devotional component in the different systems of yoga - karma,
jnana, dhyana?

4.Is it necessary to give up everything and stay in a temple to practise bhakti
yoga? In other words, can one practise bhakti-yoga by continuing what he is
doing to earn his living?

5.If a person is chanting his rounds (16 or less), reading, associating with
devotees and doing his work as student, professional etc, then is he doing karma
yoga or bhakti yoga? (This is continuation of q 4).

6.Srila Visvanath Cakravarti Thakur translates buddhi-yoga while Srila
Prabhupada translates it as bhakti-yoga (2nd Chapter BG). How do we reconcile
the difference?

Please comment.

Your servant

Vidyadhar
