Nair-ji!
Greetings!
Of Course, i knew you did not mean our vedic seers and their wisdom
when you mentioned the 'primitive' man and his WORSHIP of Nature AND
its elements out of 'FEAR'...
i was just trying to reinforce the fact that the 'primitive' man
worshipped not only our of Fear but also out of Reverance and
Gratitude. Secondly, the so called 'primitive or cave man is wiser
than the 'machine' age Man who out of ignorance and arrogance is
slowly and systematically destroying Nature and its environment by
POLLUTION and its attendent evils.
The present day industrialized man ( as opposed to his counterpart
the Stone age man)Looks upon Mother Nature as an object of
exploitation ...
Our vedic texts celebrate the eternal bond between Man and Mother
Nature - a bond that is to be cherished and celeberated - the Vedic
man offered prayers , performed Yagnas witha view to honor this
eternal link between Man and his environment!
Author Madhu Khanna states
The unequivocal claim of the Vedas is that the eternal bond between
man and nature is nourished by the law of universal harmony (Rta),
truth (Satya) and prayers:
Truth, unyielding cosmic order, consecration,
Ardour and Prayer and Holy Ritual
Uphold the Earth, May she the ruling Mistress
of what has been and what will come to be,
for us spread wide a limitless domain.
[Atharva Veda, 12.1.1]
Nair-ji, i know you love poetry and soulful poetry , at that !
Here is one from Rabindranath Tagore ....
In the world's audience hall, the
simple blade of grass sits on the same
carpet with the sunbeam and the
stars of midnight.
Thus my songs share their seats in
the heart of the world with the music
of the clouds and forests.
But, you man of riches, your wealth
has no part in the simple grandeur of
the sun's glad gold and the mellow
gleam of the musing moon.
The blessing of the all-embracing
sky is not shed upon it.
And when death appears, it pales
and withers and crumbles into dust.

Yes, dear all! what is the use of 'progress' if by Progress we mean
the slow and systematic destruction of 'Nature ' -the environment and
ecology !
love and regards
