Default Re: "Real" - Defined!- a little arithmetic - real and unreal! - 07-18-2004, 06:03 AM

Most respected Mani-ji!

Thank you for sharing this . A WONDERFUL POST.

Mani-ji writes...

Namaste, Advaitins,

I have just opened my Yahoo Mail after about ten days. Oosh, there
are more than 800 mails to be read. There are quite a lot on "Real
and Unreal" which I must read first.

I AM A LITTLE CONFUSED.

the last time you read your mail was 10 days ago - that is on 07/07
or on or about that date ...

the last msg posted on 07/06/04 was msg number 23567

and the last msg posted 07/18/04 excluding yours is 23806

the total number of messages between 07/07 and 07/18- 10 days is 239
on advaitin list...

You received

800 msgs in 10 days... THis is way too much!

You must be a member of many groups and may be you have
chosen 'receive by email' option...

and i am sure you get a lot of private emails too!

MY SUGGESTION - ( for whatever it is worth)

please turn the email option on lists which are over active and which
has too many members.

block of the bulk mail option...

And you know know, mani-ji, by turning off the email option , you
have another advantage ... You only read the messages you want to
read... you can ignore other messages ! ( by now, you know the
psychology of each poster including me... smiles)

mani ji writes

"IMHO, any amount of debates/discussions/commentaries in trying to
define "Real"will take one no where."

mani-ji,

here i would like to recall a favorite quotation of mine

"There are two kinds of truth: ordinary and profound. the opposite of
an ordinary truth is a falsehood, but the opposite of a profound
truth is also profound."

similarly, "There are two kinds of Truth; Real and Unreal. the
opposite of real is unreal but the opposite of Real is also Real"

figure that one, please ... and jnanis like Shri Ramana know this!
we have to remove the 'Hridaya Granthi' as chitta-ji talks about and
then only the 'amrita-nadi' will flow.

love and regards
