Dear Len,
Its interesting you should say that. A couple of months ago I had the
most vivid dream and I for one do not ever, dream about animals. In
fact I hardly ever recall my dreams, just emotional impressions, not
nice ones at that! Never the actual events in the dream.
In my dream there appears to be a field, lots of people walking in
groups. Suddenly a tiger is sighted on the edge of the crowd, there is
no panic from anyone, just interest and cranning of necks to try and
catch a glimpse of it. The tiger whenever it moves, it moves very
fast, almost flows.
The tiger "flows" here and there amongst the crowd, still no fright or
panic, no one is screaming and running away. My own reaction is one of
amazement and interest, of the type that involves no hint of personal
danger or fright. Its like, "Wow! He just moved past that lady so that
he almost brushed against her!!" He doesn't look like an ordinary
tiger, the stripes are bigger, bolder and more intense. The body and
head shape is different, more like that of a large leopard.
Suddenly he is right next to me, I am still not scared. And then he is
right in front of me face to face and I am keeping really still. My
stillness is coming not from fright but from a knowledge that if a
wild animal is around keep still and don't move. This keeping still
is, within my dream a deliberate move. The tiger than slowly pushes
its face right up against mine and I mean right up, its almost as if
he is trying to merge his face into mine. I can feel the heaviness of
his face against mine. I have my eyes open. Still no pain or panic.
Then I find that both my eyes are looking straight into one of his
eyes and then slowly my whole vision is enveloped inside his eye. All
I can see is what is inside his eye….blackness and distant stars. I am
still not frightened. I can still feel his face pressed against mine,
full on. There is also a pressure against the right side of head, near
the area between my cheek and temple. Then I close my eyes and I
think…."he might kill me", he is up in my face for so long…at no point
is his mouth open. When I think that he might kill me (I am still not
scared) I start saying "Ram..Ram..Ram.." at which point I slowly come
out of my dream and am still saying Ram in my mind as I fully wake up.
The first thought that comes into my mind when I wake up, and it is
very matter of fact ..is.."Ohh it was Her Tiger" Now the funny thing
is….I never think/visualise Devi as with a tiger! (or lion for that
matter)
When I wake up, I am laying on my left side (the pressure I had felt
had been against my face full on and the right hand side of my
temple), my face is not covered at all. My feelings in this dream, if
any were, awe, curiosity and expectation.
One of my favourite pictures of Devi is as TriDevi Lakshmi Durga and
Saraswati BUT its without her vehicle...she is standing. It feels to
me as if the Tiger is making sure I don't ignore it!! To the extent
that I was "in" it….I couldn't see anything but what was in his
eye...and I couldn't feel anything except his face pressed against mine.
Looking into The Eye of The Tiger has taken on a whole different
meaning here but what??
I did post a question to the group as to what Her tiger is supposed to
represent. One person responded that its control of anger. (I don't
think I am that angry a person)
Anyone care to comment on this dream or please tell me what Her Tiger
signifies/represents. I am wondering if I am doing something wrong....
