Australian woman Apeetha Arunagiri lived in India for 30 years near the
temple town of Tiruvannamalai in Tamil Nadu. Initially drawn there as a
devotee of Ramana Maharshi, she stayed and was instrumental in forming
the Annamalai Reforestation Society dedicated to replanting the sacred
mountain Arunachala. This is her story and the story of the Arunachala
Village Forest Plantation, a small scale village-based group which she
also formed.

I congratulate the society on its pioneering effort. I will be happy to support it in whatever I can. I will get in touch with the Society when I visit India next summer. Till then, all success to the society!
