Rare video footage recorded by the Tirupati Tirumala Devasthanam 50 years ago as a promotional video for the Tirupati Balaji temple. You can see the abhishekam of the moola vigraha without ornamentation, followed by the deity in full gold and diamond dress. This is the only authentic video of Tirupati Balaji ever recorded. This footage was shown on a Telugu news channel. The reporter gives a 30 second introduction before the footage begins.

i do not know how far it is right to photograph or shoot images of gods but what i have heard is that the chaitanya of god is reduced if you take photo shoots
Video and photography has existed for just 100 years. Our scriptures obviously do not prohibit it or even speak of it since it never existed. People who think it is forbidden to film a deity are just superstitious. And that superstition has only existed in the last 100 years. At the time when photographs first were invented, it must have seem mystical to be able to take someones photo. An uneducated villager would conclude it was some type of black magic or some mystical connection. But with full scientific understanding of how photography works we shouldn't be holding on to such superstitious beliefs. Our scriptures speak nothing about it, on the other hand deities images have been drawn and painted for thousands of years!
This is a excellent thing, is that video is available in the marker if yes. please lets know where this is available. This will be for those people who could not visit so far.
God bless you.Beacause of u thousands of devotees able to see the rare photo of Lors Balaji.Particularly the aged.Thepeople behind this will get the blessings of the Lord.nodoubt.
very good,we r greatful for such a rare collection.great job done.this will help us have the lords darshan as and when we want.
Also try to get temples like tivannamalai, kalhasthi, chidambareshwara and etc.
It is really excellent to see the Lord which we common people can imagine only...really it created a feel of personally present in presence of His Almighty...Lord Venkateswara ...Govinda...Govinda...Govinda
Dear Ajit, and Srinivasa - You are right.God has a special aura of light surrounding the Deity, which usually we are not aware of. I think the flash photography reduces the chaitanya of the God, by cross cancelling the effact. Obviously,Flash light and Dewine light is different, but a powerfull light thrown on the Deity is a logically understood fact about this phenomenon. Video footage taken without the flash light thrown on the God by using the natural emmisions comming from the area should not have that effact.
So, I believe it should not have a problem in my personal opinion.
Do you all know, that the Temples have a deep and dark chamber for God, just due to this reason. A Ghee lamp is just to keep that chamber illuminated enough to have limited exposure of light on the God.
Ghee lamp is also purifying the surrounding air trapped in the main chamber. May be that is why, photography is prohibited in Muslim religion also.
Well, that is what I believe !!! But, you find out the fact.
Very Rare Video. I only had Tirupati venkateswara swamy darshan always when ever i went to Tirupati. Never was lucky enough to see the Abhishekam of moola vigraham. I am very happy to see it now and consider myself very lucky. Om Namo Narayanaya! Thanks a lot for sharing this precious and pious video
its definitely a blessing to view this. Its things like these that help us feel closer to God. God is not a secret.... about the diminishing aura, i dont know, but what i do know is that in our limited knowledge which we consider so great by our research and so on, we cannot take away from the Divine. Its the other way around! Im unable to visit temple, and its these types of footages that bring some measure of happiness.
Great video. I am blessed. So far as photography is concerned, it should be left to the spiritual (not political) head of TTD even if some question the decision.
I am so happy to have had the benefit of seeing this divine footage and hearing the divine chants in front of our Lord. Thanks a million for making this possible
