The Fire Yogi is a 47 minute documentary exploring a Yogi who has the extraordinary ability to use a unique breathing technique to get into union with Fire. This documentary portrays a rare and unusual Fire Ritual performed by the Yogi and the subsequent chemical analysis of his clothing & physical tests that examine this supernatural phenomenon. The Yogi has performed this Fire Ritual for a total of 1000 days over the last 45 years. The Yogi, weighing a mere 94 pounds (43 kilos), has been able to survive on only two bananas and a mere glass of milk with a few drops of water twice a day for the last 28 years. Many aspects of the Yogi are on the edge of unbelievability, while at the same time highlighting the power and endurance of human mind, body and spirit.
Yogi Rambhauswami, the 63-year-old yogi, claims that in 1975 he stopped drinking more than a few drops of water each day, that two years later he began limiting his daily diet to a banana and a cup of milk, and that he sleeps only three hours each night. By all rights the Sanskrit scholar should be malnourished and dehydrated, but in director and producer Mike Vasan's documentary, he appears to be a relatively normal, if somewhat slender, senior citizen. Rambhauswami's real claim to fame, however, is his elaborate fire ritual.
The ritual begins with his taking a bath, then moving on to meditation, pranayama, and a ceremony honoring Ganesha. The fire portion of the ritual is conducted over a sunken pit, into which Rambhauswami offers rice, coconut, sugar cane, and gallons of ghee. As he's doing this, he goes into a deep meditative state. He enters the blaze and rolls around, protected by only a wool shawl, and remains there, in the fire, for up to 10 minutes at a time.
When Rambhau emerges from the flames, though, there's little evidence that he's just been charbroiled. Even his shawl is intact, its preservation credited to a protective aura. The shawl was later tested for fire retardant, and results showed that the material hadn't been treated.

I pray to swamiji to train dozen students to attain the same status as he has attained through sadana and in the quickest posiible time. I also want the students newly being trained to spread the technique and criticalities of attaining this ststus to many an ordinary men in the society. I don't doubt the achievments of the yogi. Rather I am concerned that this knowledge should be passed on to many an ordinary men in the society that may be of immense use at critical junctures. Om Shanthi.
It doesn't look like he is that exposed to the fire. Not a great a feat in my opinion. Sorry! A mortal maybe impressed but I don't think this will please any of the Gods.
I agree, he never touches the fire, thatīs the point!!. I wanna see him showing skin/fire direct contact, otherwise, itīs just a cheap show. Fanatics have the tendency to see miracles everywhere, amazing how people deceive themselves. Look and think my friend, donīt be blind, just look and see!!

People do not understand these things and when they see these things it is usually in the skeptical manner. When one begins to understand that such phenomenon are actually naturally powers that we all posess but are hidden. This is the true art of yoga to awaken or GOD selves to the absolute infinity

Yogi doesn't claim that he is God or demi-God. He is simply showing the people the power of yoga and meditation. People who criticise him are those, who cannot even bring in even a seldom of discipline in their life. CAn these people wake up early in the morning and do a morning walk round the year, forget about doing any yogasanas. It is not easy to impart training to ordinary people. People have to be mentally strong and disciplined lot to learn yoga. Anybody can do it, but it needs practice and mental power.
Although I admit that there are forces in this universe beyond the understanding of human intellect, I wonder why the masses always fail to rationalize such feats when performed by saffron clad people who call themselves swamis, while similar feats performed by other people are easily rationalized.
Not to demean any Swami who undertakes such activities in the name of global healing or peace, we must agree that world-renowned magicians like P C Sarkar or David Blaine have also been seen performing miraculous feats, which the masses easily explain away as mere tricks.
I suppose that if an unknown magician were to wear saffron robes and apply vibhuthi all over his forehead, and perform his tricks "for the overall betterment of the human race," then the masses would call such a man a great saint or a mahapurusha.
I shall not be satisfied till my understanding is clear.
Before understanding the nature and mankind we should understand our self first.
Very difficult to understand the reason for us to be on earth and for what is it just collecting wealth,fame and leaving all the hard earn in split of second.

Here in Greece, at the celebration day of saint John(21June) and the celebration day of saint Constantine+santa Elen(21May), some 'sacramentalists' called "anastenarides", after their prayers to God and to the saints of these days, they walk though fire several times without burning!
I believe it- not just because i saw it-, but beacause of Faith, that gives to us, humans, abilities to come closer to our God(inside us)..
In India, i think, people still have the power of sanskrit language, so they can understand subconsiously all the "god matters"...(I want to believe that, Hinduism is still alive there)more easily than the west societies,

I believe in the yogic powers, although i think only some of them r real yogis in nowdays.
As i saw him on this video, he seems that he talks to the fire(to Agni god maybe ?) trying to calm this element so it(or He) will accept him inside it(Him)...

Great.This is a part of yoga.Agni is one of the panch mahabhuts:akas,bayu,agni,jal,prithvi by which the whole universe has been created.In the path to universal soul(parambrahma)one has to go beyond these five elements.

I have seen his homa for myself and it's indeed spectacular and just witnessing it itself is divine. Sit in meditation during his 'agni pravesham' and u will know how u feel. One has to experience this feeling to know what it is. He is full of love and I have never seen a guruji like him full of love and compassion.
Saints who had the ability to talk to the ALL PERVADING UNIVERSAL COUNCIOUSNESS OR GOD by way of own Intuition at will, donot perform this kind of supernatural(or acts that are above the level of an average human at the time) for fun or for the sake of satisfying the ego. They do it only when inspired by the Divine will, they perform this and that too to DEMONSTRATE TO THE AVERAGE HUMANS,THE FACT THAT HUMANS ARE NOT THE SLAVES TO THE NATURE OR CIRCUMSTANCES, BUT ARE ABOVE THEM. When Lord Jesus Christ said "GOD made man in his own Image" or when Swami Vivekanda says "Each Soul is Potentially divine", this means, that Individual is as powerful and as strong as the GOD thyself, but it is ones own forgetfulness of this truth of oneness with GOD, that makes them yield to the natures pleasures and illusions.
Acts like this are perfectly needed(ofcourse, the intention of the person who performs this kind of acts should be pure in his own self and follow the divine will rahter than being driven by ego or greed) to DEMOSTRATE WHAT IS POSSIBLE TO A MAN OR WOMAN IF DETERMINED.
YOGA AND MEDITATION provides a perfect tool for this demonstration as well as give a complete understanding of the life and other aspects of life that modern science or for that matter, nothing can teach the individual. THE MYSTERIES OF LIFE CAN BE SOLVED BY ONES OWN EFFORTS AND INVOLVEMENT, RATHER THAN any other means.
Did the people actually realise that the Yogi is laying down in the Hawan Kund. I mean, some have mentioned that the fire DOES NOT touch him, for crying out loud, have you have undertaken austerities as such for length in time realising the level of heat that is accumulated in the Hawan kund- the heat from the coal, fire....This Yogi is fantastic, and moreover such Yogis are in decline; I am not so much interested in miracles,but rather his level of accomplishment, he is doing for God not for circus, and it was not this act that he set out originally to accomplish BUT the path of God.
Please read the book Autobiography of a Yogi by Swami Paramahamsa Yogananda on google search and you will get free version. This will explain how the saints who had attained the state of higher realizations will be able to perform the actions that appear as miracles to us, but for them they are just normal actions. In reality, there is no miracle, but its our ignorance is what makes us see something that we donot know to treat it as a miracle. But for those who had access to the the ultimate , the ALL PERVADING GOD, there is nothing that impossible.
This book explains scientifically on how the miracles are done by using, Einsteins theories, by using hte modern technologies like wireless technology etc.
By the way, THERE HAD BEEN NO ONE WHO HAD NOT EXPERIENCED THE GOD AFTER COMPLETING THE READING OF THIS BOOK SO FAR, AS PER THE BOOKS PUBLISHERS NOTE and also as per my own conviction. Excellent. The Yogi has attained mastery over the element fire with the help of Yoga. There are very few such Yogis left who can perform such feats. Those who doubt his abilities should realize that he is not a street performer begging for alms.
